The Brazilian economy has undergone dramatic changes over the course of the past year; largely exacerbated by political factors that have propelled a major depreciation of the currency, a stagnation in most vertical’s capital expenditures and a slow-down in consumer spending and confidence. The purpose of this document is to allow PMMI members currently doing business with Brazil and those who are studying options in Brazil, to better appreciate market realities and offer some practical advice on how to navigate and even expand one’s presence in the packaging space locally. This update complements the 2015 and 2014 Brazil PMMI reports without going into the same level of detail.  The aim of this report is to address the challenges and offer solutions on how to tackle them.
