Technical Sales
Sales representatives are in the business of selling advanced scientific and technical products to businesses and organizations. A sales representative envisions, designs and sells new products or programs in order to increase clients' output and profit. A knowledgeable sales representative negotiates product or service sales that would benefit their clients.
Job Duties
- Meet assigned unit and dollar volume targets by effectively selling a wide range of products and services within an assigned geographic territory
- Plan detailed presentations that show clients product info, pricing and benefits
- Develop product or program suggestions for clients and successfully sell them
- Manage billing and delivery of solid products
- Meet with clients at appointments for sales presentations
- Follow up on solid products to ensure the customer is happy
- Stay knowledgeable on updates in science and research by continuing to read and study new data
- Acquire new customers by winning them over from competitors and discovering new opportunities

- Demonstrated track record of meeting aggressive sales objectives
- Willingness and ability to travel, depending on the position and sales role
- Creativity to approach sales and build customer relationships in groundbreaking new ways
- Must be comfortable in all business settings from the plant floor to the boardroom
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, presentation and problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail
- Computer proficiency and the ability to accurately enter data and generate reports
- Negotiation and social problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a high-stress sales environment and multitask
- Demonstrated ability to utilize consultative selling strategies and tactics in a competitive sales environment

Education
AA or AAS degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field of study; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
