EXPO PACK México Reunites the Industry in Person

July 13, 2022

México City, Méx.; June 13, 2022 — EXPO PACK México 2022 (June 14-17; Expo Santa Fe), the largest exhibition of its kind in Latin America, returns to México for the first time in four years and opens its doors tomorrow. The four-day exhibition will showcase the latest packaging and processing technologies, innovative sustainable solutions, and a cutting-edge educational program, according to show producer, PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies.

This biennial event convenes nearly 700 exhibiting companies with packaging and processing professionals from over 40 vertical markets across 18,000 net square meters of exhibit space. More than 150 PMMI members will exhibit at the event in addition to global representation from pavilions from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, and the United States. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore and interact with a wide variety of machines, materials, and other goods and services to find solutions to today’s challenges.

“We are excited to welcome the industry together for the first time in four years,” says Jim Pittas, president and CEO, PMMI. “Now more than ever, it is critical for Latin American companies to keep up with the new innovations in our industry, and with 700 exhibiting companies, there is no better place to do it than here at EXPO PACK México.”

According to AMEE, the Mexican Packaging Association, production across all vertical industries grew as consumer products became more important during the pandemic. Food and services grew at 50%, followed by the personal care and household products sector at 15% respectively, and pharmaceuticals grew by 10%. The packaging industry has had to transform and evolve to keep pace with changing consumer demands with packaging production increasing 4% since 2020.

With so much growth and change in the industry, the multitude of brand-new show features at EXPO PACK México are a must-see for all industry professionals.

Free educational sessions, all hosted in Spanish, are available for attendees to take advantage of on-site and online. For the first time in México City, EXPO PACK Keynotes, free and presented in conjunction with Mundo PMMI, takes place June 14-June 16 at 12 p.m. daily. The program will provide insights from industry leaders on the circular economy, sustainability, and automation and robotics, and will also feature a panel discussion from PMMI’s Packaging & Processing Women’s Leadership Network. This panel features extraordinary women who share their inspiring stories and discuss initiatives, strategies, and actions they have taken to be leaders in the manufacturing industry and promoters of STEM careers among girls and young women in Latin America. All EXPO PACK Keynotes will be recorded and available on-demand following the show.

A show favorite, the Innovation Stage (Booth 2830), returns to México City offering free 30-minute sessions on the show floor, highlighting the latest breakthrough technologies, innovative applications, and proven approaches from the experts themselves. Sessions will be available on-demand in Spanish for all registrants via EXPO PACK Online (https://www.expopackmexico.com.mx/es/expo-pack-online).

Attendees can pre-plan their time on the show floor by downloading the mobile app, sponsored by ProMach, to identify and map out exhibitors to visit, search education sessions, and more. At the show, attendees can use the app to easily navigate the show floor and quickly locate the exhibitors they want to visit. The EXPO PACK México show app can be downloaded from the Apple App or Google Play Store.

The “PyME” program highlighting more than 200 exhibitors offering financing, support, and solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises makes its debut this year.  Attendees can look for the PyME insignia in exhibitor booths and next to exhibitor listings in the show directories.

The Showcase of Packaging Innovations (Booth 1550) also makes its EXPO PACK México debut and presents the most innovative and award-winning packaging of recent years from organizations in Latin America to offer inspiration and guidance for future projects of packaging professionals. Participating organizations include AMEE, AMEXICCOR, and LATAMPACK.

EXPO PACK México recognizes exhibiting companies offering environmentally friendly solutions, either in new materials or technology (such as biodegradable packaging or new reduction processes, recyclable materials, and biodegradable); as well as in technology to reduce their carbon footprint through the EXPO PACK Verde program. EXPO PACK Verde signs will also be displayed in participating exhibitors’ booths and in the show directory.

In addition to free educational sessions, AMEE, the Mexican Packaging Association, ISBT, the International Society of Beverage Technologies, and A3 (Association for Advancing Automation) are all hosting events in conjunction with the show.

Industry growth, as reported by the Latest Mexican Purchasing Index report, makes it more essential than ever to see technology in action. According to this latest Q1 report, all responding Consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies in México are anticipating expansion on scheduled projects in Q2.

“Evaluating packaging and processing solutions is most effective when experienced in-person. There is no substitute for seeing technology up close, manipulating materials and containers, working controls, speaking to multiple vendors, and getting answers on the spot,” says Laura Thompson, vice president, trade shows, PMMI. “With impending expansions, there is no better time to explore solutions needed to compete in a changing marketplace.”

Registration for EXPO PACK México is $150 MXN. For more information and to register, please visit www.expopackmexico.com.mx.  Show registration includes access to the show floor in addition to EXPO PACK Online where attendees can create a personalized schedule via My Show Planner, search products and exhibitors, and access all pre-recorded Innovation Stage and EXPO PACK Keynote sessions on-demand.
