Raffle participants must complete the "Mechanical Components 1" test no later than Sept. 24, 2010. There is no cost associated with taking the test and participants who achieve a passing score will receive the PMMI Mechatronics Certificate for “Mechanical Components 1” free of charge. PMMI’s Board of Directors met Nov. 9, and voted to accept 23 companies’ PMMI membership applications. With the vote, PMMI has 498 general members, 41 supplier members, 16 materials members and one processing member.

The PMMI membership elected four new members to the PMMI Board of Directors and its Executive Committee for 2010.
New Board members include: Ben Garvey, Garvey Corporation, Sharron Gilbert, Septimatech Group, Inc., Timothy McCarthy, Kinsley, Inc. and Michael Senske, Pearson Packaging Systems, Inc.
The 2010 Executive Committee will be comprised of Glenn Siegele - Omega Design as Chairman of the Board, Nick Wilson - Morrison Container Handling Solutions as Vice Chairman and James Anderson - Marlen as Past Chairman.
New Board members and the Executive Committee were recently elected at PMMI's Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA.
Improve your packaging line worker's troubleshooting skills
Developed in cooperation with the University of Florida, PMMI's Troubleshooting Packaging Machinery eLearning Course teaches entry-level theory, process and logic of troubleshooting specifically applied to packaging operations. It is designed to help observation, thinking and communication skills in order to develop more effective and successful troubleshooters.
Students can access the “Troubleshooting Packaging Machinery” e-Learning course by selecting the PMMI U tab. Using PMMIU, PMMI's new learning management system, students can now create an account, purchase training, attend training, and keep track of their progress in one convenient location.
